My Funny Valentine

It's little Tyra, a rescue Toy Poodle/Chihuahua.  Not to worry, my sisters will love her when I am gone.

We were both rather tired.

  1. OMG Tequila, she is so cute, so small and cuddly.

I am a dog freak. I used to volunteer twice a week at Friends for Life in Gilbert. I did it for about 2 years until I moved here, I LOVED it. That is where I got my big lovely girl Lucy. I met her my very first day there and it was love at first sight. I had to bring her home. I had to wait a few weeks, Chris was not too sure at first and Lucy was scared of him, but they are madly in love with each other now. She is an 85lb pit and a big blonde diva. Totally spoiled, and loves kids to bits.

Aaah dogs, they really get to you.

The back of your hand looks like mine girl. I am covered in bruises and taking the coumadin just makes it worse. I guess it takes a bit of getting used to, this medicine, it is funky stuff.

  2. Hey, I found your blog a couple of days ago and am so glad I have! One of my best friends is facing the fact that she may soon lose her husband to cancer. I think I'm leaning from you dear soul. Thank you for posting this picture too, it's sooooo cute!! I love your beautiful dog and I was wondering if they allowed pets in hospices, I'm glad to see that, yes! It is an option. I'm praying for you now, and am very thankful we crossed paths. May today be a day filled with blessings.
    Hugs from~Jenny

  3. Jenny, thank you for your kind words. So far, I am doing hospice in my home, and hence my ability to have Tyra with me. I will send blessings to you, your friend and her husband.

If Hospice is an option, I hope they go with it. I'm happier today than I have been in two years, yet I do not regret the battle, because I HAD those two years. :)

    Hugs back at you!

  4. Tequila,
Thanks for your reply wow, you are quick! Call me clueless but I thought hospice only applied to a facility. I'm glad there is the on home option, I knew one could get a nurse in home for some conditions. I guess I havent read enough of your blog to make a sensible comment. Oh well I am so glad you have your adorable critter for snuggles and amusement. What would you say has brought on this new sense of peace? Relief from pain or a less stressful environment? If your answer is written all over your blog I'm sorry... I'll try and read some more of it as soon as I get a chance. Thank you for your warmth and quick reply, somehow I knew you'd be that kind of lady. : ) I hope you had visitors and saw some blue skies today you little ray of sunshine you!

Thanks for the hugs~~more hugs to you~Jenny

  5. Jenny, after almost two years of treatments, including both chemo and radiation, it became apparent that we couldn't keep the cancer from spreading any longer.

A trip to the ER, and some scans showed brain tumors, and we'd already found bone Mets in both of my femurs. I was simply ready to stop the rather hideous treatments and let nature take its course.

For me, it was a very liberating choice, and my oncologists and my primary care doctor all agreed it was the best thing to do. It's just another part of the journey. :-)

  6. I am glad you no longer endure scarey treatments, when it's usually anybody's guess as to how your body may react. I hope you are having a peaceful pain free day with friends, pets and your wonderful nurse. : ) ~a hug for you in case you were hankering for one. Did you get some fresh air today?
Just wondered how your day was coming along.

  8. Hi, Beth! Hey I miss you, but I can't quite play, sill. Sisters and I transferred Guild Mastership, just to be on the safe side .

Axxelson runs Vintage Oenophiles, and Hrudy has the Sommelier Supper Club. So if you ever need anything from either guild, we're still sisters only. :-)

Love to you too, sweet friend!
