HOME!

This is just a quick note to let everyone know I am home.  I have a couple of new prescriptions, and I have to go to the blood lab tomorrow so they can check my clotting rate (PT/INR), but tonight I can sleep in my own bed, with my own pillows---and life is good!

A special THANK YOU goes out to Rebecca, my RN for at least three nights that I can remember, and to Janet from oncology, you made me laugh, and you made me so very glad to have met you.  You are an amazing woman.  Good luck on your treasure hunts!

Now, I'm all drugged up and ready for bed.  Peace, happiness and love to all.

Painting Again

It's been ages since I picked up my watercolors, but my sister, Wendy, got me inspired and I started working on a triptych yesterday.  I was rather ambivalent about how it was progressing in the watercolor pencil dry stage, but today, I started to apply the water, and I am LOVING how it is looking.

But, frankly, I have crappy brushes, so I will need to find a good hobby store or something and see what I can do to rectify the situation.  I find myself, instead of  gently swirling my colors, attacking them instead.  It's almost like I'm stippling instead of painting.  And it's doing something special to what I've laid in with the pencils.  In any event, I so enjoy painting and being creative, and even though I may not have any finesse, I have FUN! :D

What I was doing with the triptych was essentially practice because I want to give Wendy and Dean a triptych for their living room for Winter Solstice.  I have the canvasses already, but I wasn't ready to hit them immediately.  I need to play first.  Not that what I'll be doing with the canvasses won't be play time, but it'll be a little more thoughtful playtime. ;)

One of the watercolor books I have shows techniques for creating a parrot.  I was thinking of doing a triptych of three of the same parrot, only different colors for each canvas.  But don't worry, Dean and Wendy,  I doubt that'll be what you get... hehehe.

Anyway, thank you, Wendy, for inspiring me to get out the watercolor pencils again.  It makes me very happy.

Hugs, kisses and love to all!

Not Pneumonia!

Apparently, it's a pretty decent asthma episode, with the cancer contributing to my not being able to spring back at all well.

Dr. R called a few minutes ago to tell me that my labs were good, and my Xray showed nice, clear lungs. :)

So, I need to get my meds done and I should be fine for my herceptin infusion next week.

YAY, ..... and yet I laugh, because I am so happy to be able to have my herceptin treatment, even though it still gives me that dratted ague and some aches and pains.  But, you know, you can't feel pain if you're not still ALIVE!!!! :D

Cold, Tired and Happy as a Clam

Remember when you were a kid and tomorrow was Christmas?  Or maybe your memory is more like tomorrow you're going to Disneyland?  You were so excited you barely slept, and you ended up getting out of bed the next morning before anyone in your neighborhood?

Yes, that was me this morning.  I could not wait to get to work!  And it all went pretty darned well.  Best transition I have ever had coming off of a leave of absence.  Got my computer up and running by 9AM with total access to all my lovely numbers.

But oh yes, I am totally exhausted now, but it's such a wonderful, almost gleeful exhaustion.  My Boeing family welcomed me back with such warmth.  So, I probably talked too much, which tired me out even before the cancer.   I ended up leaving a bit early and finishing up my day at home telecommuting.

It was so much fun working on my formulae in Excel and getting reports and things formatted for January month-end.  Gads, I missed it all so much; and it all came back to me so fast!  I was whipping through pivot tables like crazy. :D

Now, I am starving and need to go see about creating dinner.  I have no idea what we have in the house, but I bet I can come up with something.  I'm going to be working from home tomorrow, so I can sleep in a bit.  It's gotten rather cold, and we're expecting another overnight freeze this week.  What a bizarre winter it has been.

And in the mail today, I received a card from the congregation of which my Reverend sister is a member.  That card pushed all the chill from my day; it was full of love and kindness and a powerful fellowship.  Thank you to each and every person that had a hand in that card; I can't help but be touched and feel loved.

Ok, off to find food!  Keep warm, all!
