When you’ve been feeling absolutely awful, getting back to some semblance of normal is an amazing gift. Though getting to sleep took some work, i.e. had to get up to drink some coconut water because I was getting foot cramps, once I got to sleep, it was blissfully uninterrupted until Mr. Sun showed up a little after 5AM.
Today, there is just sporadic pain, and I’m so much in a better place, mentally. My plans for this evening: Watch Master Chef, then go to bed. Exciting, eh? :D But I need to catch up on my rest, and sleep is so good for what ails you. Now if it could only cure cancer. :P
Oh, and apparently, I am not the only person on earth that thinks Ned Stark (character from George RR Martin’s Game of Thrones) is a moron. If you haven’t read the books nor seen the HBO series, you won’t get these, but .. oh yeah, they are right on. Alas, there are only two more episodes for this book. They are not going to be very happy ones, either. Oh well.
Just got off the phone with my oncology nurse from Optum Health. It's a new one, Patty. I like her. We talked about how to manage the pain, and I'm going to talk to Dr. F about taking some Benadryl on the Thursday following my infusion, and see what he thinks about that. Man, I just don't want that damned pain killer nausea and vomiting again. :(
So, until next time, take care, sleep well, have happy dreams and be kind to someone random. :)
Girl I hear ya on the sleep front. I love my sleep and if I cannot sleep (which is not at all often) boy do I get cranky. It is one of the best things you can do for the healing process, so please if you continue to not be able to sleep get some help.
ReplyDeleteI do so hope the benadryl works for you. The chemo is bad enough sapping your energy but to have pain and nausea too is just too much. That would kill me LOL, nausea has got to be one of the worst things ever. Geeze, you are really going thru it aren't you, I do feel for you and am sending healing thoughts.
I also think a bit of what you fancy on tv is good for you. I don't seem to have the same tastes as you, I am more into the real housewives type of programs, and yes I feel happy when something I like is coming on tv. Get dinner out of the way, have a cuppa ready and just chillax, loverly.
Have a good day today, stay out of the heat.

Saw a woman cook up a beautiful Haggis, with Salmon, stuffed in a fantastic looking pastry shell. Alas, though two of the judges loved her Haggis, she still didn't get two votes. She was from Glasgow
ReplyDeleteJane and I, when we're watching English Premier League football, wish for closed-captioning for the Scottish Impaired. One of the announcers has a Scottish accent so thick we can't understand a word he says. :)
True, Fay, my taste in TV is pretty strange. I hardly watch it, but I do love my cooking shows. :)
Tequila, do not feel so bad, I too feel like sometimes I need closed captioning. I have been away from Scotland for 23 years this month but apparently I still have my accent, or so people tell me.
ReplyDeleteI like cooking shows too, but like you my taste is a bit funky.
