Arizona Family Hospice

That's my hospice.  They are relatively new, but I really like the people with whom I have dealt so far.

Today I met my goal of getting to the bathroom by myself, thanks to my 3-wheeled walker.  Later, I fired up the electric wheelchair and went outside to get the mail!  It's these little victories that help keep the smile on my face.  My sisters Nancy and Cathy built me a curved ramp to get me out the front door.  It works like a charm!  Sadly my house has LOTS of step-downs ... one step only, but a hinderance all the same.

I had a visit from the hospice doctor yesterday.  He just said, essentially, to do whatever I want. So, I had two chocolate chip cookies today.  I felt so decadent. :)

The amazing care and empathy of this hospice's staff truly impresses me greatly.

Now off to bed I go.  HugsAnd kisses to all.

    How nice to hear that you were able to get up a bit. I have one of those wheeled walkers with a seat, and I use it when I take my walk around the Condo Complex. So far I haven't needed to rest, but am glad I have it, just in case. So happy that your Hospice people are great, and are helping you to feel better. I don't have to tell you to stay strong...you are one of the strongest people I ever have known.

    I am so glad that you are feeling better and starting to sound like your old self, dear friend. You know, that added touch of your unique humor. :-} I'm also glad to hear that your Hospice folks are kind, caring people. As Arlene mentions above, you are one of the strongest people I have ever known and I miss you. Will get with you in the next few days to find out when a good day for a visit would be.

    By the way, "2 chocolate chip cookies" is far from decadent. You're going to have to do better than that to earn the title of decadent.

    It such a relief to hear you sounding like your old self. Drive safely on your new wheels. BTW: Choc chips should be eaten in 4's or 6's, never 2. :)
